A Vintage Wedding

Today I woke up to find I had been included in the beautiful treasury list called The Vintage Bride's Garden Tea Party. The treasury is beautiful so I thought I would share it with you all :).

I love the idea of having a vintage themed wedding. This summer I am going to my first ever wedding! It shall be a traditional English wedding with a church and reception in a typically English manor house. I can't wait! The bride is having a mixture of new and vintage items for her wedding day and is using vintage tea cups on every table to put flowers in which I thought was such a lovely idea :).

Feature Thursday- The Flying Needles

This week’s featured shop is'The Flying Needles' a shop run by two cousins, Joan and Andy, from Massachusetts. Joan’s daughter also makes some of the hats for the shop so it's very much a family affair! They have a beautiful shop full of knitted items but specialise in knitted baby clothes. My favourite item in their shop has to be this little pinafore set which comes with knitted mary jane shoes, socks and a bonnet. The colour and style of this set remind me of vintage baby clothes which I love so maybe that is what drew me to this set.

Here is a photograph of the little sock that are included in the pinafore set...how cute are they!?
Boo would also love this dog cardigan to keep her snug!

Please take a look at their store. They have beautifully made items at really reasonable prices :).

Rain Rain Go Away!

It has been raining all day here in England. Some days I love the rain, the sound of it against my window and the fun of jumping in the puddles wearing my wellies but today was not one of those days and I just wish the rain would go away!! I got caught out in it earlier and turned up to a meeting soaked. I wish I was here instead today...

I can't wait for summer :) Xx

Frozen in Time...A cold day.

Today it has been really cold and windy in England so I am wrapping up warm!! Across the other side of the world in Minnesota, Eden is also feeling the cold so made this beautiful treasury list which includes my Poole Pottery coffee cup and saucer.

This coffee cup reminds me of my childhood spent down at the beach in Poole, close to where I was brought up and also the place in which this cup was made. Poole has many beautiful beaches and is a typical British coastal town. Often on a windy day my family would wrap up warm and go down to the beach for a stroll along the seafront. The coffee set is in the Twintone pattern, a pattern which used two different colour combinations. This cup has one of the original glazes, Ice Green and Seagull, from the 1940's and for me is very much a reminder of those childhood memories down at the beach with a ice cold sea breeze, waves crashing against the shore and seagulls swooping overhead.

Here is Eden's treasury list...

Feature Thursday- Mana

After featuring Phanie last week on my blog she sent me a really lovely thank you message which made me smile and left me all warm and fuzzy!! It got me thinking why not make featured seller a more regular feature of my blog??  So.....*drum roll!*....Thursdays shall now be Feature Thursday on my blog with a different seller each week.

To kick it off I have Mana and her shop Sassi Chic Jewelry

Mana works together with her fiance to run the shop. She makes the jewellery and he photographs and manages the business side of things. Her inspiration for her jewellery comes from her mother, a classy lady with a love for bright colours, and from jewellery from places she has lived around the world including Sri Lanka, India, Poland and Pakistan.

She says" I would go with my mother to different jewelry/gem stores in the Middle East and South East Asia, watching her pick our sapphires, emeralds, you name it. I would then watch her work with the jeweler to make rings and necklaces out of those gems - all of that left me in awe." Jewellery making then a hobby of hers and later a business. She now lives in the U.S.A but ships her jewellery world wide.

I think her jewellery is absolutely beautiful :) and I love the vibrant colours she uses in her work. These two rings are my personal favourites. On the left hand side is a Princess Jasmine ring and on the right a mermaid ring
Please stop by and have a look at her shop :).

Featured Etsy Seller

I have been selling offline at craft fairs and vintage markets for a while but selling online on Etsy has been a new venture for me and one that I love! I officially set up my shop in August 2011 but it was properly running and stocked up by November 2011.

One of the reasons I really love selling on Etsy is that there is such a community.I have got to know buyers and sellers from all across the globe making it a really enjoyable experience and I regularly have a browse around Etsy to see what other shops are selling and what great items are out there.

One shop that recently caught my eye is Mine to Me run by a Phanie from America. She sells really cute necklaces made from mini glass bottles with different hand crafted objects inside such as coffee cups, roses and winter scenes...there is even a baby Jesus!

Here is one of my favourite of the necklaces featured in her shop at the moment. Its is a tiny rose. Its so cute and would be such a unique piece of jewellery to own. Please be sure to take a look at her store by clicking the link

A busy few days...

Hi everyone :),
I have been very busy the last few days making new items for my shop and am rather pleased and excited with the results so thought I would share some photographs of the work in progress! I had great fun choosing new stamps, cutters and inks for the gift tags and after running a poll on my facebook page it has been decided to use cream as the gift tag colour as it was the most popular by far. I have bought some new heart stamps and cutters for Valentines gift tags as it is fast approaching! Please let me know what you think of the results :).
Here are some of my new tools that I have been using to make my new gift tags designs.

My gift tags lined up waiting to dry!

You can probably tell by now that tea cups have become a bit of an obsession of mine so I couldn't resist this little tea cup design stamp...its so cute!!!
These have been really popular when I have been selling them at craft fairs so much so that I had run out of stock! I have been making lots more this week and each pack (10 in each) comes ribbon tied.

A finished pack of purple hearts. These will be lovely for Valentines days and I plan to wrap my boyfriend's presents with these tags.

Please let me know what you think of the results and if there are any patterns/ designs that you would like to see made.
