Item of the Week - Handmade rustic style heart tags by The Dorothy Days
Hello everyone,
Thanks so much for stopping by and reading my blog. At this time of year I always get a flurry of orders for my heart tags as people start planning and organising for their weddings and I also get orders for valentines from people using the tags as love notes (One customer hung the tags with messages for his girlfriend on trees and then took her on a romantic walk…awww!). So I have been working hard making lots of tags up for orders. I sell the tags in any amount in increases of 10. The minimum order is for 10 tags and the sky is the limit for maximum! Each tags is handmade and comes strung with cotton which saves you time and effort. They come in two different sizes, large and small. To see my full range of tags including my heart tags please click HERE . You will find different quantities listed in my shop but if you require a different amount please request a custom order and I will set you up with a listing. Out of all the items in my shop I think my tags are my favourite to make and I always love making items for people's special occasions. It has been lovely over the years to hear how people have used my tags. Have you ordered some tags from me? I would love to know how you used yours, please let me know in the comment section below or tweet me.

Style Saturday - Cute patterned socks for cold winters days
Hello everyone,
Welcome to my third Style Saturday of 2015 (still can't get my head around it being 2015!). The theme of this Style Saturday is….well….SOCKS!
It is still cold and wet out and about so if you are anything like me you will be spending most of the time in big thick jumpers and snuggly socks! In the summer time I am a bit of a hippy child and walk around barefoot as much as possible so in the winter, if I am going to have to wear socks I might as well make sure they are nice ones! So for my Style Saturday today here is a collection of some super cute socks to brighten up the cold winter days!

Item of the week - Apple necklace on pretty silver chain by The Dorothy Days
This week my Item of the Week is my apple necklace. This necklace is cute and quirky and priced at just £5 plus postage. The chain of this necklace is beautifully delicate and it is hard to capture in the photograph but has a twist like detail which catches the light. The necklace comes gift wrapped in a pretty organza gift bag.

Style Saturday - Party Style for New Year - How to wear a Tutu!
Even though New Year's Eve has been and gone there still seems to be lots of parties happening to celebrate the New Year. I was trying to find an outfit combination for Style Saturday this week and came across this beautiful collection. This is a perfect example of how to wear a tutu without looking like an overgrown fairy! Channel your inner Carrie Bradshaw with this simple but elegant look which is bound to make an impression at your New Year parties. The heeled boots rather than pumps make this a more grown up outfit and wrap jumper is much more flattering than a tank top.

DIY No Sew Infinity Scarf Tutorial - What to do with your old t-shirts
Hello everyone,
Lots of us seem to be having a New Year tidy up and sort out of old things. I got two charity bin bags asking for donations this week to sell in charity shops so if you are doing a big old clear out please donate your unwanted bits in good condition to your local charity shops. If you are feeling creative you can also revamp some of your old things into something else new, I love a bit of make do and mend but sometimes time can be limited and you can't always do a long project so today I wanted to share with you all a 5 minute make (with no sewing!). My old t-shirts which aren't good enough for the charity shop I usually rip up and use as rags for cleaning but today I wanted to share with you all a fantastic tutorial of how to turn old t-shirts into a infinity scarf. Will certainly be trying this one and hopefully can also get creative and do some bleaching effects as well.
Enjoy and please do let me know in the comments section below or on Twitter if you gave this a go.

Quote of the Week - Inspirational quote for 2015 by Einstein
Hello everyone,
I spent ages trying to decide what my first quote of the week for 2015 should be. I wanted it to be inspirational to kickstart 2015 but not super cheesy so I opted for this Albert Einstein quote. Hope that you all have a fantastic week and maybe give something new a go this week.

Style Saturday - Patina - Interior styling for 2015
Hello everyone,
Welcome to the first Style Saturday of 2015! I really enjoyed doing the Style Saturday posts last year (a great excuse to look at beautiful things!) so hope to continue this and make this a weekly feature in 2015. I am really looking forwards to the spring so I thought I would share with you today a spring inspired look. It has beautiful greeny/yellow hues like the buds in spring with the grey and blue of the crisp spring skies. I think I have been watching too many Grand Designs but I also love the combination of wood and steel with materials which natural patination will occur such as copper. I have always thought of this as an outside feature but I love the idea of bringing items into the home as well.
What do you think? Love it or loathe it? Let me know in the comments section below!

Happy 2015 from The Dorothy Days
Hello everyone!
Happy New Year to you all. I can't believe that it is now 2015. 2014 seems to have flown by so quickly and so much is different now than it was a year ago, feels so strange thinking back.
Just wanted to wish you all a wonderful new year. I hope that 2015 is a good year for you all and a time to make a fresh start if 2014 was a difficult year. Thank you to all of you who have supported The Dorothy Days in 2014. You have all been amazing and it has been wonderful to see support not only from those in the U.K (particularly local support) but also those across the other side of the globe. I can't even begin to tell you how exciting getting feedback from a customer is about their purchase or someone messaging me to say they enjoyed reading my blog or my tweets. Excited about what is in store for my shop in 2015 and also for the Dorset Etsy Team.
