Prada Raw Eyewear Collection - A collaboration between the arts and fashion

To advertise the launch of their latest eyewear collection,  Prada have commissioned six influential young fashion and design illustrators from around the world to make their own animated illustrations starring products from the 'Prada Raw Eyewear' range.

The 'virtual catwalks' features illustrations from Blair Breitenstein, Carly Kuhn, Judith van den Hoek, Megan Hess, Vida Vega and Wong Ping. Each illustrator has their own very unique style and the animations range from the more traditional fashion sketches of Vida Vega to the psychedelic colours of Wong Ping's animation.

I really love what Prada has done here and always enjoy seeing collaborations between fashion and the arts as they are so inexplicably linked. Who can forget the iconic Yves Saint Laurent dress inspired by the paintings of Piet Mondrian or Juergen Teller's ad campaign with Marc Jacobs? It is certainly a way to stand out from the competition and create something really attention grabbing and interactive. I certainly think this collaboration will be up there amongst some of the great and most memorable art and fashion collaborations.

Style Saturday - Travelling for him - Stylish but practical

Hello!

Lots of you are off on your holidays (vacations) at the moment. I have received lots of tweets from you all telling me about some of the amazing places you are off to (I am very jealous!).  So for today's Style Saturday I wanted to do a travel/ holiday related post but thought for a change I would do a men's style saturday post. I recently went away with my partner who travels frequently. Whilst I was at the check in gate frantically searching my handbag for my passport and trying to remember where I had put my iPad for security he had everything organised and sorted!

He would love this collection. There is a place for everything down to a clip for your cables and a place to store your pen but it is also very stylish. I remember when we used to travel as children my mum would take a big plastic expanding folder with all the passports and boarding cards and essentials in. It made everything so much easier at the airport so this is like the 'grown up' stylish version whist still be super practical.

When traveling guide for him

This would be perfect for your holidays but also if you frequently fly. I like how the slots for different things would also jog your memory and make you remember to pick up all your cables, cards, phone etc as there is nothing worse than getting to the airport and realising you have forgotten something really crucial! The passport covers are also great if there are more than one of your travelling (perhaps as a family) so you can immediately identify whose is whose rather than frantically flicking through trying to find the photos! The headphone are a must for killing time without annoying other passengers as there is only so much walking around duty free that you can do! The suitcase is....well a suitcase....practical but not particularly beautiful! We found that if you check your luggage in that if you choose a black or brown suitcase you might want to tie something bright coloured onto the case as EVERYONE seems to have a black or brown bag! That way you can see straight away when it comes round the conveyor belt.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend

Would love to hear if you are off on your holidays and where you are going. Please let me know in the comments section below!

STYLE SATURDAY - Perfect outfit for visiting the galleries

La vida es bella.

Hello everyone,

Happy Bank Holiday weekend! I hope that you are all having a great one so far. I can't wait for the summer holidays and have just booked a trip away so my mind is turning to holiday shopping! I love this outfit. It is fresh, summery, chic and pretty all at the same time! The skirt is beautiful, I love the print and the colours. It reminds me a bit of Georgia O'Keeffe's flower paintings. The note book is super cute, perfect if you are a bit of a geek like me and like to visit galleries when you are away and then jot down artists names so you can look them up when you get home!!

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend

Thanks for reading my blog!

Style Saturday - You are never too old to wear jelly shoes

Mint Jelly

I am rather obsessed with my jelly shoes! They are one of my favourite things in my wardrobe and I always can't wait to get them out once the summer is here. They also remind me of many happy summers spent down at the seaside in Dorset. I love these mint jelly shoes, the sunglasses and the pastel mascara too!

Hope you are all having a fantastic weekend so far

Style Saturday - Cat Eye Glasses that are every bit FABULOUS!

My friend, after much persuasion, has finally gone and got her eyes tested and bought new glasses and they are FABULOUS! So today I thought I would share with you a beautiful collection of amazing cats eye glasses that are far from dull! If you are going to have to wear glasses, they might as well be stylish right?!

If you are after a pair of glasses that makes quite a statement then these ones are for you. With large cats eye flicks and plenty of sparkle you are certainly going to stand out from the crowd!
Still want the sparkle but maybe slightly more subtle? These are a good alternative
These cats eye glasses have much more of a dainty, pretty look about them with thin frames and delicate flicks
Experiment with colour with these optical illusion green cats eye glasses

Have a wonderful weekend

Hello everyone,

Happy Saturday! Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. I am hoping that if I keep posting spring items that the nicer weather might come faster! This week I have this gorgeous outfit to share with you. I am rather obsessed with pastel colours and I thought this mint, pink and nude combination worked really well with the little hint of blue in the trousers.

My favourite item has to be the avocado plant holder. Isn't it cool!?

DIY No Sew Infinity Scarf Tutorial - What to do with your old t-shirts

Hello everyone,

Lots of us seem to be having a New Year tidy up and sort out of old things. I got two charity bin bags asking for donations this week to sell in charity shops so if you are doing a big old clear out please donate your unwanted bits in good condition to your local charity shops. If you are feeling creative you can also revamp some of your old things into something else new, I love a bit of make do and mend but sometimes time can be limited and you can't always do a long project so today I wanted to share with you all a 5 minute make (with no sewing!). My old t-shirts which aren't good enough for the charity shop I usually rip up and use as rags for cleaning but today I wanted to share with you all a fantastic tutorial of how to turn old t-shirts into a infinity scarf. Will certainly be trying this one and hopefully can also get creative and do some bleaching effects as well.

Enjoy and please do let me know in the comments section below or on Twitter if you gave this a go.

Hellooooo!

Hey everyone,

Sorry that I have been so quiet on my blog recently. I have unfortunately been really unwell (much better now!) and also super busy with the Dorset Team Christmas Fair planning! It is really exciting but also means that I am not finding I have much time for blogging, tweeting or making new bits at the moment.

Feeling back to my normal self so thought I would write a little blog post to say hello! Thank you to everyone who has been reading my posts.

Actually managed to do some creating and making today. Was so nice as I haven't done much lately. Super excited about sharing which I made but will keep you in suspense for a little longer!

Thanks for all your lovely get well soon tweets, very kind and cheered me up even when I was feeling really poorly!

iPhone case review and outfit selection

Hello everyone,

Really excited to share this blog post with you and do something a little different on my blog! Three Mobile kindly provided me with a complementary iPhone cover for me to match up to an outfit of my choice. I thought it sounded fun and I have been really excited to receive it through the post and see what I think of it and give you my honest opinion here.

First impressions.... well I was really in need of a new iPhone cover so was super excited to receive this one through the post. I wasn't quite sure what to expect but have to say I am really pleased with the case and it is really pretty. As you probably gather from my blog, I really like floral prints and vintage or vintage inspired items so this case was just perfect for me!
iPhone Case provided by Three

Outfit Choice...

The pattern and colour of this case means that it goes with most outfits so I had fun trying to decide which outfit to choose to pair it up with and in the end just couldn't decide so I have put together two different outfits that this would go with!

Outfit Number #1

This summer I am really loving jumpsuits. They are stylish, chic and you can dress them up or down very easily. Here a jumpsuit has been 'dressed up' with a pair of gorgeous slingback heels, blazer, big sunglasses (channel your inner Audrey Hepburn!) and of course red lipstick! The case would really complete this outfit. The bold pattern of the case would look great against the patternless outfit and the blue and pink combination add a different edge to this giving it more of a fun, summery feel while remaining very chic!

Forever New jumpsuit
£45 - forevernew.com.au

Manolo blahnik slingback
£500 - neimanmarcus.com

CÉLINE black sunglasses
£315 - lindelepalais.com

Outfit Number #2

In total contrast to the outfit above, this phone case would also go with a casual style outfit. This outfit has been modelled by my beautiful model, Liberty. She wears vintage blue patterned shorts, a white crop top from Asos, a necklace bought from a antiques fair, Betsey Johnson vintage style sunglasses and dip dyed pink hair which goes perfectly with the pink of the roses!! This look would be ideal for a festival this summer.

Hope you have enjoyed reading this blog post, I really enjoyed writing it and hope to bring you some more fashion and outfit style posts soon!

Please let me know in the comment section below which outfit you prefer and check out Three!

Parisian Chic - Style guide by The Dorothy Days

Still can't believe that this time last week I was in beautiful, sunny Paris. I am missing it lots and hope to be back soon. I thought this week I would do a Parisian themed style feature so here is my style guide for sightseeing in Paris.

Paris Sightseeing; WHAT TO WEAR

Black top with pleated sleeves to stay cool in the heat but is also more stylish than a tank top.

Go bold with print for the skirt (and you could even go bold with colour here too)

Brown bag - don't go tempted to take too big a bag or you will have to lug it around all day. Instead take something which is large enough for everything you need and has flexibility in how you wear it. I love that this one can be turned into a satchel, stylish but also practical and keeps all your things safe if you are travelling on the metro or in crowded areas.

Flats for the day time for when you are seeing the sights, maybe a pair of brown leather sandals  and then dress this outfit up and transform it into an evening outfit with some black platforms and accessories with some bling!
Pack and Go: Paris
