The Dorothy Days - New items in my shop

Happy Friday everyone!

Hope that you have all had a good week. I have been working really hard on my shop and listing lots of new items. I am feeling rather proud of how the shop is looking and how much it has grown recently so I thought I would share with you all some of my favourite new listings.

I am trying to expand the range of vintage items which I have in my shop so recently have been listing some lovely vintage children's books. The books have the most wonderful vintage illustrations and are lovely to read as they are a real reminder of how much the world has changed, technology has moved forwards and how much people's attitudes have changed. It took me ages to list the books as I ended up reading them all as they were fascinating as they give an insight into the era in which they were published. The book above is one of my favourite of the ones which I have recently listed. It is 50 years old and not only does it have lovely illustrations but also is a really sweet book as it is meant to help children feel less nervous about going into hospital.

This is another one of my new listings - a vintage tea cup and saucer set made from English bone china. This set is so so beautiful, one of the most beautiful I have ever had in my shop and I think it would make such a lovely wedding gift. Click here to view this vintage tea cup

I have also been adding some vintage brooches to my shop including this one which I thought would be perfect for the Autumn because of its lovely brown and amber colours.

Hope that you like my new items :)

The Dorothy Days - These are a few of my favourite things!!

Hey everyone :),

How are you all ? Hope your week so far has been good. Still beautifully sunny here in the U.K which feels amazing. I have been a little unwell recently so have been mainly hidden inside working away and resting but tomorrow am hoping to get out and about a little bit more and head out into the sunshine. Hopefully shall be meeting up with one of my friends and going for a drink in this lovely little pub with a really nice beer garden which is just down the road.

I have been working hard recently to improve my shop so I  thought today for my  I would share with you all some of my favourite items in my shop at the moment. I would also be really grateful to hear your opinions on my shop as I am trying to decide how to expand my shop and what new items to put in it. Would love to hear from you guys what your favourite items in my shop are, what you would like to see more of (more tea cups, more jewellery, different types of china etc), anything that I don't have at the moment but you would like to see and also what type of jewellery do you prefer.....the silver style jewellery or the antiqued bronze style?

Any feedback would really help me expand and grow The Dorothy Days so I would be really grateful for any replies......Thank you lovely bloggers!!  I am so excited :)

First up is my little wooden rabbit necklace. I really love this necklace and made one for myself which I wear all the time. It looks really cute with a peter pan collar blouse and always attracts compliments!

Click here to view my retro blue rose necklace

Next are my tea cup and English rose necklaces. These necklaces are some of my best sellers in my shop and as you can see come in two different colours:

*  A beautiful retro blue/ seafoam blue colour

* and a dusky pink English rose colour

Click here to look at my pink rose necklace

These make perfect gifts for a English tea lover and come gift wrapped in an organza gift bag. Matching earrings are also available in my shop.

I am rather in love with this vintage tea cup trio! The set comes with a tea cup, saucer and a cake plate all in the same beautiful English rose design. The colours in this tea set are fabulous and very vintagey with the mint green and pink colours of the rose. It looks even more beautiful in the flesh and is great for tea and toast or tea with a nice slice of cake!! Despite its age this tea set looks as if it has never been used. It is in stunning condition.

Finally are these very chic Parisian grey daisy earrings. These earrings are really stylish and cute at the same time!! They can be dressed up or down and go with nearly any outfit. They are really pretty for the summer too especially with this sunshine we have been getting recently.

They also come in a range of different colours including pastel pink, pastel green, blue and purple.

To browse the different colours please take a look in my shop. I also offer a mix and match in which you can pick two pairs of earrings of the colour of your choice and save on postage!

Hope you enjoyed having a look at some of my favourite items in my little shop. Any feedback on my shop and what you would like to see more of , what you think is missing etc would be greatly appreciated!!! Best wishes to you all :)

New things!!!!

Hello everyone :) !

Hope that you have been having a wonderful day and that this week is a good week for you all. Today I have to admit I have been having a rather lazy day! I spent the day sitting out in the sunshine with family and friends and drinking lots of tea and then cooked an amazing Thai curry for supper :).

My lazy day today makes up for my day on Sunday, although supposed to be a day of rest I was super busy! I woke up early and decided to have a change around of the living room. You know one of those ideas which seems like a really good idea but half way through isn't?! Well I managed to break the TV aeriel and so have been without television until this evening! It took me forever to make it work again. I wouldn't normally mind as I don't really watch that much TV anyway but at the moment the Paralympics are on so I have been so annoyed that I have been missing bits. I have been reading the news and twitter to try and keep up to date and watched some clips online on the news sites but its not quite the same!

I also photographed lots of my new vintage stock which was exciting :) and have loaded some new items to my shop :). It took me the whole day but I am really pleased with the photographs and even took new photographs for some of the stock already listed as I feel the new photos show off my items much better :). I have listed about 6 new items. I thought I would show you a small selection of my new photos and listings. What do you all think ?!

This photo I am particually proud of :) The orchid was for my birthday present :)

This is one of my favourite of the new cups I have listed. The colours just make me want to smile :) ! Listed here

So far all the newly listed tea cups seem to have gone down well and I have had a few likes on facebook and quite a few views and favourites on Etsy which is always lovely :). My pink and white rose teacup has also been featured in a treasury already which is so exciting :) especially as its only been listed for 24 hours!!!

A lady called Ruth has made a beautiful tea themed treasury with some stunning items in it. She certainly has an eye for treasuries and I love every item that she has featured especially the Brighton bus tea cosy!!! Makes me feel at home :) !

Here is Ruth's beautiful treasury (thank you so much for including me!!)

'Time For Tea!' by RuthClare

My hubby and I can't resist a good cuppa, and not only is it tasty and refreshing, it also has health benefits. So I thought I'd celebrate our love of having a good old cuppa with this treasury list. Put your feet up and enjoy!

English Roses

One of my favourite things about the summer time are the beautiful roses. I live in the countryside so I am fortunate to have a garden which has lots of different roses. When they come into bloom the garden smells beautiful and also looks so lovely. There is also a rose garden in a near by manor house which is open to the public in the summer months. It is absolutely beautiful and I could spend all day there reading and relaxing among the roses. Summer is a little while off so here are a selection of English roses from my shop.
