Shabby chic sitting room inspiration

Hello everyone,

Thought I would give you all a little bit of shabby chic inspiration today with this sitting room collage. Shabby Chic Living Room

I think my favourite is the chair and the framed prints on the wall as they look a little bit like the ones I sell in my shop!

The Dorothy Days improvements and new listings

Hello everyone :)

Had a really good week this week, hope that you all have too. I am working on improving my shop at the moment by listing lots of new items, getting some better photographs and I also made a new banner for the shop. I am really pleased with how the banner looks and have had some really nice comments about it both on Etsy and on Twitter (thank you everyone!). I have also had some really great feedback on my new items from my shop, loads more views and also some more sales! Thanks so much everyone, really gives me a huge boost knowing that you like what I am doing.

For those of you who have not seen it yet this is my new banner that I made last week .....

I am really proud of it and think it is much more fitting with my shop. I am also a bit of a sucker for a really pretty font so am really happy with the font on the banner!!!

My new moustache necklaces, these bring a smile to my face every time I see them! Please click here to view them in my shop

I also listed this beautiful mustard vintage beret it is in great condition and I adore the colour!
I have also been adding to my more 'shabby chic' items such as this beautiful rose pin brooch

They are just a few of my new items in my shop. I have listed about 20 in the last two weeks!! Hope that you like them.

Best wishes,

Vintage Style Nails!

Hello everyone,

I am feeling rather summer today, the doors and windows are open, the garden deckchairs are out, I have been listening to some summer songs and Boo (my puppy) is running around the garden and has decided the best place in the whole garden to lie in are my flower beds!! I have bought a beautiful new vintage sun dress which I have been wearing today and have decided that I need some nails to match!! I am always jealous of those girls who have beautifully painted nails with little designs on them. I always thought that I would never be able to do those kind of nails are they look too fiddly but today I found a video which shows how to make pretty summer nails with vintage style flowers really easily and without having to have the steadiest hand in the world! I thought I would share it with you all. The colours are really vintage and they have beautiful rose designs on them. The youtube video shows you step by step how to do them.

Hope you enjoy the video.

I would love to hear from anyone who tried them out or anyone who has any other cute designs painted on their nails. Please drop me an email with a photo on thedorothydays@hotmail.co.uk and I shall feature your pretty summer nails in next weeks post as a summer inspiration post.

Shabby Chic Saturday!

I am rather in love with the shabby chic / cottage chic style so was thrilled when my little meakin tea cup trio was featured in this most beautiful treasury which shows you how to get the romantic shabby chic look for your home. The colours in this treasury are really beautiful blues, pinks and yellows and would be great for inspiration if you were redecorating your home.

Here are some of my favourite items which were included

A beautiful photograph of pink peonies (one of my favourite flowers...they smell amazing) by Judy Stalus

How luxurious is this bed by painted cottage ?! You would deffinatly feel like a princess sleeping in this bed!
My 1950's shabby chic English rose tea set for sophisticated tea drinking!  The Dorothy Days

A handmade pillow by classic by nature

How could we have shabby chic without some handmade bunting?! I love the delicate floral fabric used in this bunting by Berry a la Mode

A huge thank you to The Fairy Tree for featuring me in this beautiful treasury :) Hope you all have a wonderful weekend

English Roses

One of my favourite things about the summer time are the beautiful roses. I live in the countryside so I am fortunate to have a garden which has lots of different roses. When they come into bloom the garden smells beautiful and also looks so lovely. There is also a rose garden in a near by manor house which is open to the public in the summer months. It is absolutely beautiful and I could spend all day there reading and relaxing among the roses. Summer is a little while off so here are a selection of English roses from my shop.
