Inspiring Quote - Etsy Summit in Bristol - Small Actions

Hey everyone,

Rather weary today after a super busy weekend at the U.K Etsy Summit in Bristol which I attended. It was so much fun and I came back with a note book full of ideas and feeling inspired. Realise that I missed yesterday's quote of the week post which I normally share an inspiring quote. I was so inspired the whole weekend listening to what all the other U.K teams have been up to. The U.K Etsy community is growing really fast and there are some wonderful established teams as well as some fantastic emerging ones.

One quote from the weekend which really inspired me was during a talk by Erin who is from Etsy in Canada. She was talking about the Etsy community and collaboration and it was one of the presentations which really stuck with me

During her talk on community she said....

and then used this youtube clip to demonstrate what she meant. It is well worth a watch, not only is it a beautiful clip but also has a fantastic message.

If you are interested in what happened at the U.K summit please keep checking back on my blog as I will be posting more updates.

Have a great week and hope that some of you will be able to do a small action which will make a big difference to someone else this week whatever that may be.

Style Saturday - Cat Eye Glasses that are every bit FABULOUS!

My friend, after much persuasion, has finally gone and got her eyes tested and bought new glasses and they are FABULOUS! So today I thought I would share with you a beautiful collection of amazing cats eye glasses that are far from dull! If you are going to have to wear glasses, they might as well be stylish right?!

If you are after a pair of glasses that makes quite a statement then these ones are for you. With large cats eye flicks and plenty of sparkle you are certainly going to stand out from the crowd!
Still want the sparkle but maybe slightly more subtle? These are a good alternative
These cats eye glasses have much more of a dainty, pretty look about them with thin frames and delicate flicks
Experiment with colour with these optical illusion green cats eye glasses

Have a wonderful weekend

What I have been up to the last few weeks....

Hey everyone,

Wow, it has been a busy few weeks and nice to take some time out to reflect and tell you all what I have been up to. Highlights were the Women of the World festival on the Southbank which was AMAZING and my trip to Cornwall both of which I will tell you about in a separate blog post (as I am likely to get some excited and carried away with photos!) but in between that this is what I have been up to...

Rufus has gone on holiday/ dog training camp as he is still being a little terror! The house is so quiet without him but I have been getting little updates and it sounds like he is having a great time and hopefully will come back having made a lot of progress with his retraining. His hair is so long at the moment he looks like a little fluff ball.

I have been having some photography lessons in hope that I will be able to improve my shop photography, I have learnt lots and got to play around with this beast!  Great fun and really useful too.
Can't wait to get going photographing new items for my shop.

A day trip to beautiful Kent. I have only been once to Kent so it was lovely to have some time to explore and have a look around. We took a day out to Scotney Castle. It is a stunning National Trust property surrounded by beautiful countryside.

Here is the house itself, what a beautiful building. We had a little tour around the grounds, castle and house.

and of course tea had to feature....! Check out my Moomin mug!

Style Saturday - Vintage Staffordshire Tiles

Feast your eyes on these! Aren't they amazing?! Last year we had the bathroom done and used beautiful old vintage tiles. I think they are my favourite part of the new bathroom. We have a beautiful roll top bath and oak flooring so they really completed the look. This collection of tiles are vintage Staffordshire tiles dating from the 19th century. The patterning is beautiful!

Which tile is your favourite? I would love to hear. Please leave me in a comment below

Style Saturday - Seafoam and Gold stationary collection

Sea Foam & Gold Desk Set

I love pretty stationary so couldn't resist sharing this with you all for my Style Saturday feature this week. What isn't there to love?! The blue is bright and fresh, the pink is warming and the gold adds a touch of elegance. I love the vintage look that this collection has but with a very contemporary twist. Perfection!

Style Saturday - Nudes, pastel pink and a touch of mint outfit inspiration

Hello everyone,

Happy Saturday! Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. I am hoping that if I keep posting spring items that the nicer weather might come faster! This week I have this gorgeous outfit to share with you. I am rather obsessed with pastel colours and I thought this mint, pink and nude combination worked really well with the little hint of blue in the trousers.

My favourite item has to be the avocado plant holder. Isn't it cool!?

take her hand

Enjoy your weekend everyone and thanks so much for reading my blog

Plans for March - How is it March already?!

Hello everyone,

How did it get to March?! I still can't get my head around it being 2015 let alone it being March! Feels like this year has already gone by super fast.

This month is shaping up to be an amazing month. I have a really packed schedule of exciting things including...

  • The Women of the World festival at London's Southbank Centre. I went last year and it was AMAZING so I can't wait to go again this year. There are workshops, talks, debates, a marketplace and just so much going on. I will try and take more photographs this year and hopefully will also write a blog post so watch out for that one!

  • I will be continuing to host a series of 'Live Chats' with the Dorset Etsy Team. We are working together as a group to improve our Etsy shops and so get together every Tuesday night online and discuss a topic for that week. It has been fantastic and I have learnt to so much.

  • A big family holiday to Cornwall, I can't wait. It is right by the sea and there is a slide in the house as well as stairs....thats right....a slide! Well we all know what I am going to be doing for the entire week....!!

  • I have been invited back to the U.K Etsy summit which this year will be held in Bristol. I can't wait to see all the other team captains who I have met before and also lots of new faces!

I will try and blog as much as possible this month and take lots of photographs for you all!

Thanks so much for all your support and to everyone reading the blog
