Quote of the week Audrey Niffenegger Sleep

Hello everyone,

I thought I would start this week with a beautiful, yet sad, quote from one of my favourite books.

“Sleep is my lover now, my forgetting, my opiate, my oblivion.” - Audrey Niffenegger

The Dorothy Days- Wordless Wednesday- Adorable Cat

On Wednesdays all over the internet, bloggers post a photograph with no words to explain it on their blog. Hence the ‘wordless’ title. The idea is that the photo itself says so much that it does not need any description.

Dorset craft fair - Hoburne Park- Christchurch

Hello everyone,

I am getting really really excited for the Dorset craft fair in Christchurch on the 7th July (please click the link for more info).  I have been preparing some of my stock and making some new items for the craft fair too. So so excited as it will be one of my first craft fairs this summer. There are going to be lots of amazing stalls with local artists selling handmade and vintage items. I thought I would give you all a little 'sneak preview' of what to expect at the craft fair by showing you all some items from some of the shops which are coming to the fair.

Lynn from Nemeton is having a stall selling her beautiful award winning jewellery such as these earrings.

Kelly from Bournemouth shall be selling some of her gorgeous hand knitted animals

Artist and jewellery maker Sarah arranged the craft fair, above is one of her beautiful paintings Her shop is called Deliciousbits

How amazing are Bella's cloth dolls?! Such intricate work, I can't wait to see this stall.

Dave who runs OneLonelyDuck will also be there with his wonderful illustrations

Hope this has given you all a little taster of what to expect at the craft fair. There are going to be 30 tables so a huge variety of vintage items, craft and art.

Hope to see some of you there, will be a great day out and a wonderful way to support local artists and crafters.

The Dorothy Days improvements and new listings

Hello everyone :)

Had a really good week this week, hope that you all have too. I am working on improving my shop at the moment by listing lots of new items, getting some better photographs and I also made a new banner for the shop. I am really pleased with how the banner looks and have had some really nice comments about it both on Etsy and on Twitter (thank you everyone!). I have also had some really great feedback on my new items from my shop, loads more views and also some more sales! Thanks so much everyone, really gives me a huge boost knowing that you like what I am doing.

For those of you who have not seen it yet this is my new banner that I made last week .....

I am really proud of it and think it is much more fitting with my shop. I am also a bit of a sucker for a really pretty font so am really happy with the font on the banner!!!

My new moustache necklaces, these bring a smile to my face every time I see them! Please click here to view them in my shop

I also listed this beautiful mustard vintage beret it is in great condition and I adore the colour!
I have also been adding to my more 'shabby chic' items such as this beautiful rose pin brooch

They are just a few of my new items in my shop. I have listed about 20 in the last two weeks!! Hope that you like them.

Best wishes,

Dorset Team Craft Fair- Hoburne Park - Christchurch

Hello everyone,

Want to hear some exciting news?! I have booked another craft fair this summer!!! I am so so excited, really can't wait. Will be fantastic to go to as I have been busy making lots of new necklaces and earrings and have also been expanding my vintage stock. The craft fair is going to be a really great one. It has been set up by a lady called Sarah who makes beautiful handmade jewellery and is going to be showcasing local artists, crafters and vintage sellers most of whom also sell on Etsy and are part of the Dorset Etsy Team (which I run). Will be a wonderful way not only just to meet other artists and crafters in the local area but also to sell our products together.

The craft fair is on Sunday 7th July and is from 10am- 3pm. Please if you are reading this and you are local please pop that date in your diary and come along and see what we have to offer. I have seen some of the shops which are going to be coming and there is a fantastic selection of items for sale. The fair is at the Hoburne Park in Christchurch. As you can see from the poster items which shall be sold there include cards, handmade jewellery, paintings, photograph prints and vintage items. This will be a really fun day out and a great way to support local artists, designers, crafters and independent sellers

Would be wonderful if some of you could make the fair and could pop in and say hello to me :). I am having two tables one with my vintage stock and one with my handmade items. I shall be taking some tea cups and jewellery like you see on my etsy shop but also cake stands, vintage illustrations and book plates, handmade gift tags, a wider range of jewellery and I have some really cute home decor things.

Hope to see some of you there

Quote of the Week- Roald Dahl

Hello everyone,

How are you all ? Hope that you have had a lovely weekend :).

Thought this week to start the week I would share a quote from one of my favourite authors of all time....the rather wonderful Roald Dahl. Did anyone else spend their childhood reading his books?......actually.....silly question.....EVERYONE spent their childhood reading his books!!! This quote made me smile today so I thought it was the perfect one to share.

And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.”

― Roald Dahl

Have a great week everyone :)

Summer is here!!

Hello everyone :),

How are you all? I hope that you have been enjoying the sunshine. Hasn't it been beautiful?! I have been sat out in the garden making lots of earrings and photographing some new bits and bobs for my shop. I have had such a lovely day. My freckles have seen the sun and have come out like crazy hehe :) ! Anyone elses done the same?! I am so excited about summer, can't believe it is June and summer is finally here. It is my favourite time of the year.

Trying to list lots of new items in my shop and yesterday I listed some little watermelon earrings. Today I was really thrilled as they got featured in the most beautiful summer treasury by a lady called Kate who is from Gloucester. So happy that my earrings have already been featured in a treasury and such a beautiful one as well. Big thank you to Kate for featuring me. Please be sure to take a look at her shop, she has some lovely things.

Thought I would share the treasury with you all so that you can all enjoy it. Doesn't it just make you want to go on a summer picnic!?

What I have been working on today

Hello everyone :-),

Thought I would share with you all what I have been working on today. I have been rather busy making some new fruit earrings. There are all different kinds; watermelon, grapes, apples, grapefruit etc and then I put them onto my stand that I bought for my craft fairs :) What do you think? My favourite ones are the watermelon slices I think. I have also been loading some new items onto my shop
